Daily Readings
Preface - Nathan's parable of the ewe lamb causeth David to pass sentence upon himself. Nathan applieth the parable to David; who humbleth himself, and is pardoned. The newborn child being stricken of God, David mourneth and prayeth for him while living, but taketh comfort after he is dead. Solomon is born, and named Jedidah. Rabbah is taken by David, and the people thereof tortured.
2 Samuel 12
Preface - Paul declareth that in assured hope of a blessed immortality hereafter he was indifferent to life, and laboured only to approve himself to Christ; that knowing the general judgement that would follow, and the terror of it, he was solicitous to persuade men; that this was said not by way of boasting, but purely to furnish the Corinthians with a reply in his justification against false pretenders; that moved by the love of Christ, he was become dead to all former regards; and all things being now made new by God in Christ reconciling the world to himself, he, as ambassador for Christ, besought men to embrace the offered reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5

A Puritans Catechism

Q78 - How is baptism rightly administered?

A - Baptism is rightly administered by immersion, or dipping the whole body of the person in water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, according to Christ's institution, and the practice of the apostles, and not by sprinkling, or pouring of water, or dipping some part of the body, after the tradition of men.

Because He Lives
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; - Revelation 1 v 18

Believers, this is your Saviour. Soon you shall see Him as He is. Till then 'Fear not.' Your Advocate is alive for evermore. He reigns for ever for His Church and people. All that divine wisdom is for us, His eyes are for us - His feet to tread down His and our enemies. He walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, and holds the stars in His right hand.' There is no hiding of His glory now - no hiding of His power. He lives for us - no evil can befall us - 'Fear not.'
