Daily Reading Plan - First Year
Preface - Jacob cometh to the well of Haran; meeteth Rachel, maketh himself known to her, and is entertained by Labam, whom he covenanteth to serve for Rachel. He is deceived with Leah; marrieth Rachel also, and serveth for her seven years more. Leah is fruitful, and beareth Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah.
Genesis 29
Preface - Christ's resurrection is declared by an angel to the women. Christ himself appeareth to them. The chief priests bribe the soldiers to report that he was stolen by the disciples. Christ appeareth to the eleven in Galilee; and sendeth them to teach and baptize all nations.
Matthew 28

Daily Light - Morning
As thy days, so shall thy strength be.

When they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. - Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

The God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. - He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. - O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
Deu. 33.25; Mk. 13.11; Mt. 6.34
Ps. 68.35; Isa. 40.29
2 Co. 12.9-10; Phil. 4.13; Judg. 5.21

Daily Light - Evening
Awake, O north wind; and....blow upon my garden,
that the spices thereof may flow out.

No chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. - The fruit of the Spirit.

He stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

Though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. - In all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Song 4.16; He. 12.11; Ga. 5.22
Isa. 27.8
Ps. 103.13
2 Co. 4.16-18
He. 5.8; He. 4.15

A Puritans Catechism
Q 79 - What is the duty of such as are rightly baptized?

A - It is the duty of such as are rightly baptized, to give themselves up to some particular and orderly church of Jesus Christ, that they may walk in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

The 1689
Baptist Confession of Faith
Of Lawful Oaths and Vows
Chapter 25
PARAGRAPH 4

Marriage ought not to be within the degrees of blood kinship or affinity, forbidden in the Word;  (8) nor can such incestious marriages ever be made lawful, by any law of man or consent of parties, so as those persons may live together as man and wife. (9)

(8) Lev. 18  (9) Mark 6:18; 1 Cor. 5:1

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
Eternal loss
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5 v 10

Every man shall be rewarded according as his work has been. Some will be made rulers over five, some over ten cities. I have no doubt that every sin, inconsistency, backsliding and decay of God's children takes away something from their eternal glory. It is a loss for all eternity; and the more fully and unreservedly we follow the Lord Jesus now, the more abundant will our entrance be into His everlasting kingdom. The closer we walk with Christ now, the closer will we walk with Him to all eternity. 'Thou hast a few names in Sardis which have not defiled their garments. They shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.' Amen.
