Daily Prayer - Wednesday
- Give thank to God for the Bible its inspiration and preservation for us to read it today. (2 Timothy 3.16, Proverbs 30.5.) - Give thanks to God that we have easy access to the Scripture in English, in our mother tongue. - Pray the Lord would bless us as we study the Bible through the ministry this coming year. That as we work through a book of the Bible the Lord would continue to help us to grasp God's truth. - Pray for the Lunchtime outreach service and those who attend; pray that more from the offices nearby and Christians who commute are able to join us. Jeremiah 42 Preface - David's psalm of thanksgiving for God's mighty deliverances and manifold blessings. Psalms 18 Daily Light - Morning The joy of the LORD is your strength. Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. - Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. - The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. - My soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. - We...joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. - I will joy in the God of my salvation. Ne. 8.10; Isa. 49.13; Isa.12.2; Ps. 28.7; Isa. 61.10 Ro. 15.17; Ro. 5.11; Hab. 3.18 Daily Light - Evening He hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure. I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son... Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 2 Sa. 23.5; 2 Tim. 1.12 Eph. 1.3-5 Ro. 8.28-29,30 A Puritans Catechism Q 76 - To whom is Baptism to be administered? The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of Marriage Chapter 25 PARAGRAPH 3 It is lawful for all sorts of people to marry, who are able with judgment to give their consent;5 yet it is the duty of Christians to marry in the Lord;6 and therefore such as profess the true religion, should not marry with infidels, or idolaters; neither should such as are godly, be unequally yoked, by marrying with such as are wicked in their life, or maintain damnable heresy.7 5 Heb. 13:4; 1 Tim. 4:3 6 1 Cor. 7:39 7 Neh. 13:25–27 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings A new creature He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14 v 21 You are greatly mistaken if you think that to be a Christian is merely to have certain views and convictions and spiritual delights. This is all well; but if it leads not to a devoted life, I fear it is a delusion. 'If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.'
