Daily Prayer - Wednesday
Wednesday
- Give thank to God for the Bible its inspiration and preservation for us to read it today. (2 Timothy 3.16, Proverbs 30.5.)
- Give thanks to God that we have easy access to the Scripture in English, in our mother tongue.
- Pray the Lord would bless us as we study the Bible through the ministry this coming year. That as we work through a book of the Bible the Lord would        continue to help us to grasp God's truth.
- Pray for the Lunchtime outreach service and those who attend; pray that more from the offices nearby and Christians who commute are able to join us.

Daily Reading Plan - First Year
Preface - The manner in which the word of the Lord was first revealed to Samuel. God sheweth to Samuel the destruction of Eli's house. Samuel, commanded by Eli telleth him he vision. Samuel is favoured by God, and acknowledged for a prophet in Israel.
1 Samuel 3
Preface - The Jew's prerogative; which is not vacated by the unbelief of some, nor is God's justice impeached in punishing their sinfulness. The law itself convinceth the Jews also universally of sin; so that no flesh is justified by the deeds of the law; but all indiscriminately by God's grace through faith in Christ: yet without annulling the obligations of the law.
Romans 3

Daily Light - Morning
He hath prepared for them a city.

If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. - An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. - Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. - Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain, Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth night. - Yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
He. 1.16; Jn. 14.3; 1 Pe. 1.4; He. 13.14
Ac. 1.11; Jas. 5.7-8; He. 10.37
1 Th. 4.17-18

Daily Light - Evening
Base things of the world....
hath God chosen.

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminiate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of Go. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world....among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind.

According to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
1 Co. 1.28; 1 Co. 6.9-11
Eph. 2.1-3
Titus 3.5-6
Isa. 55.8

The 1689
Baptist Confession of Faith
Of the Holy Scriptures
Chapter 1

PARAGRAPH 6

The whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man's salvation, faith and life, is either expressly set down or necessarily contained in the Holy Scripture: unto which nothing at any time is to be added, whether by new revelation of the Spirit, or traditions of men. (9)  Nevertheless, we acknowledge the inward illumination of the Spirit of God to be necessary for the saving understanding of such things as are revealed in the Word, (10)  and that there are some circumstances concerning the worship of God, and government of the church, common to human actions and societies, which are to be ordered by the light of nature and Christian prudence, according to the general rules of the Word, which are always to be observed. (11)
9)     2 Tim. 3:15-17; Gal. 1:8,9
10)  John 6:45; 1 Cor. 2:9-12
11)  1 Cor. 11:13,14; 1 Cor. 14:26,40

See the end
Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
John 13 v 7

Perhaps you will say that they are an afflicted people. Some in poverty, some bereaved, some groaning on sick-beds. True, God dealeth with them as with sons. Often they cry 'These things are against me.' But really all is for them. If we could see the end as God does, we would see that every event is for the believer. When we get to the heaven, we will see that every wind was wafting us to glory.
