The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on theed: because he trusteth in thee. - He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. - In the time of trouble he shall hid me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. The God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. Ps. 108.1; Ps. 27.1 Isa. 26.3; Ps. 112.7-8 Ps. 56.3; Ps. 27.5-6 1 Pe. 5.10-11 Daily Light - Evening The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD. - Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. He doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?- If God be for us, who can be against us? He must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. - Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of Divine Providence Chapter 5 PARAGRAPH 6 As for those wicked and ungodly men whom God, as the righteous judge, for former sin does blind and harden;17 from them He not only withholds His grace, whereby they might have been enlightened in their understanding, and wrought upon their hearts;18 but sometimes also withdraws the gifts which they had,19 and exposes them to such objects as their corruption makes occasion of sin;20 and withal, gives them over to their own lusts, the temptations of the world, and the power of Satan,21 whereby it comes to pass that they harden themselves, under those means which God uses for the softening of others.22 17 Rom. 1;24–26,28, 11:7–8 18 Deut. 29:4 19 Matt. 13:12 20 Deut. 2:30; 2 Kings 8:12–13 21 Ps. 81:11,12; 2 Thess. 2:10–12 22 Exod. 8:15,32; Isa. 6:9–10; 1 Pet. 2:7–8 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings Arrange beforehand And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. Luke 2 v 1 Pray to be taught to pray. Do not be content with old forms that flow from the lips only. Most Christians have need to cast their formal prayers away, to be taught to cry, Abba. Arrange before-hand what you have to pray for. Do not forget confession of sin, nor thanksgiving. Pray to get your closed lips opened in intercession - embrace the whole world and carry it within the vail.
