Psalms 26-27 Daily Light - Morning God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent. The Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. - Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. The faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generation.s - All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. - Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God...which keepeth truth for ever. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. Every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God...who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way... so also Christ...though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. - Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows. The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of the Church Chapter 26 PARAGRAPH 5 In the execution of this power wherewith he is so intrusted, the Lord Jesus calls out of the world unto himself, through the ministry of his word, by his Spirit, those that are given unto him by his Father,9 that they may walk before him in all the ways of obedience, which he prescribes to them in his word.10 Those thus called, he commands to walk together in particular societies, or churches, for their mutual edification, and the due performance of that public worship, which he requires of them in the world.11 9 John 10:16; John 12:32 10 Matt. 28:20 11 Matt. 18:15–20 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings Inseparable Christ But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10 v 42 Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Everything else can be taken away from you, your money, your friends, etc: but if you have once embraced the Lamb of God, you have that good part which shall never be taken away from you. You are chosen to 'an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away.' Then we can say without any fear, 'The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.'
