His vision of four cherubims and four wheels, and of the glory of God above them. Ezekiel 1 Preface - David exhorteth to a patient and humble trust in God, in full assurance of an happy issue to the righteous, and o fthe short-lived prosperity of the wicked. Psalms 37 Daily Light - Morning Whoso trusteth in the LORD, Happy is he. [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. - The children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. - It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. - The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. Pro. 16.20; Ro. 4.20-21; 2 Chr. 13.18 Ps. 46.1-2; Ps. 118.8-9; Ps. 37.23-24 Ps. 34.8-9 Daily Light - Evening I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. Even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings. - He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night. - He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. - The darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the hight are both alike to thee. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? - Ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's - I will trust, and not be afraid. The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of the Church Chapter 26 PARAGRAPH 14 As each church, and all the members of it, are bound to pray continually for the good and prosperity of all the churches of Christ,27 in all places, and upon all occasions to further every one within the bounds of their places and callings, in the exercise of their gifts and graces, so the churches, when planted by the providence of God, so as they may enjoy opportunity and advantage for it, ought to hold communion among themselves, for their peace, increase of love, and mutual edification.28 27 Eph. 6:18; Ps. 122:6 28 Rom. 16:1–2; 3 John 8–10 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings Complete holiness For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4 v 7 If you have truly joined yourself to Christ, you will never aim at less than complete holiness. It is told of a true child of God, that, in his agonising struggles after holiness, he would often lie upon the ground and cry, 'Lord, give me up to sickness, give me up to suffering, give me up to death, but give me not up to any sin.' If you have indeed joined yourself to Christ, you will have the same desire after universal holiness. 'Let not any iniquity have dominion over me.' 'Quicken Thou me in Thy way.'
