Daily Reading
Preface - The calamities of the Jews not owing to want of saving power in God, but to their own enourmous sins. Salvation cometh of God only. The covenant of the Redeemer.
Isaiah 59
Preface - Christ proceedeth in his sermon to condemn rash judgment; forbiddeth the prostitution of holy things; recommendeth prayer; exhorteth to enter in at the strait gate; to beware of false prophets, who may be known by their fruits; and not to be his disciples in profession only, but in practice; he compareth doers of the word to houses built on a rock, those that are hearers only to houses built on the sand. Christ endeth his sermon; the people are astonished  at his doctrine.
Matthew 7

Daily Light - Morning
Who shall be able to stand?

Who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap.

I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands... These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb... They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherwith Christ hath made us free.
Rev. 6.17; Mal. 3.2
Rev. 7.9,14,16-17
Ro. 8.1; Ga. 5.1

Daily Light - Evening
Enter not into judgment with thy servant:
for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: thou your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me. - Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. - A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ. - By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.

By him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ps. 143.2; Isa. 1.18
Isa. 27.5; Job 22.21
Ro. 5.1; Ga. 2.16; Ro. 3.20
Ac. 13.39
1 Co. 15.57

A Puritans Catechism
Q 28 - How are we made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ?
A - We are made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ, by the effectual application of it to us by his Holy Spirit.

The 1689
Baptist Confession of Faith
Of Repentance Unto Life and Salvation
Chapter 15
PARAGRAPH 4

As repentance is to be continued through the whole course of our lives, upon the account of the body of death, and the motions thereof, so it is every man's duty to repent of his particular known sins particularly.
  1. Luke 19:8
  2. 1 Timothy 1:13,15

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
Be not weary in well doing
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Psalm 126 v 6

Go to the field when the seed has been covered in. Do you see any marks of growing? No, not a green speck. Still the work in going on. Have patience; weary not in well-doing . Be instant in prayer. God will be faithful to His promise. 'His word shall not return unto Him void.'
