They acknowledge their inability; all the wise men are sentenced to die. Daniel obtaineth some respite; the dream is revealed to him; ;he blesseth God: he stayeth the decree, and is brought to the king. The dream, and the interpretation. The honour paid to Daniel; his own and his friend's advancement. Daniel 2 Preface - The Psalmist exhorteth to praise God for his goodness: he prayeth to share in his people's joy: he rehearseth Israel's rebellions, and God's mercies: he concludeth with a prayer and blessing. Psalms 106 Daily Light - Morning In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted. In the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory. - Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. The righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe... To declare...at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believerh in Jesus. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. - Whom having not seen ye love: in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Ps. 89.16; Isa. 45.24-25; Ps. 32.11 Ro. 3.21-22,26 Phil. 4.4; 1 Pe. 1.8 Daily Light - Evening Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty... Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. The LORD is... great in power. - If God be for us, who can be against us? - Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us...and he will deliver us. - My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. - Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory. - Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, an dthe victory, and the majesty: for all that is in heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all... Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. Mt. 6.13; Ps. 93.1,2 Na. 1.3; Ro. 8.31; Dan. 3.17; Jn. 10.29; 1 Jn. 4.4 Ps. 115.1; 1 Chr. 29.11,13-14 A Puritans Catechism Q 58 - What is forbidden in the seventh commandment? The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of Divine Providence Chapter 5 PARAGRAPH 1 God the good Creator of all things, in His infinite power and wisdom does uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures and things,1 from the greatest even to the least,2 by His most wise and holy providence, to the end for the which they were created, according unto His infallible foreknowledge, and the free and immutable counsel of His own will; to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, infinite goodness, and mercy.3 1 Heb. 1:3; Job 38:11; Isa. 46:10–11; Ps. 135:6 2 Matt. 10:29–31 3 Eph. 1; 11 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings True divine peace Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5 v 1 Justified by faith we have peace with God - not peace with ourselves - not peace with the world, with sin, with Satan, but peace with God. True divine peace is to be found only in believing - only in keeping fast hold of Christ. If you let Him go, you let go your righteousness; for htis is His name. You are then without righteousness - without a covering from the wrath of God - without a way to the Father. The law will again condemn you; God's frown will again overshadow you; you will again have terrors of conscience. Hold Him then, and do not let Him go. Whatever you let go, let not Christ go; for He is our peace - not in knowledge - not in feeling - but in Him alone.
