Daily Prayer - Sunday
Sunday
Give thanks to God for His character, perfect, unchangeable, the same yesterday today and forever.
Give thanks to God that we can meet in the church and have fellowship with one another.
Pray the Lord would grant the preaching of his word power and clarity, and there are ready ears to hear and believe it. (2 Thes. 3.1.).
Pray we would receive faithful ministry and spiritual food from God’s Word (1 Pet 2.2.)

Daily Reading Plan - First Year
Ruth 3) Preface - By Naomi's instruction, Ruth layeth herself in the night at the feet of Boaz; who acknowledgeth the duty of a kinsman, but telleth her of one who had a prior claim. He sendeth her home in the morning with six measures of barley.
Ruth 4) Preface - Boaz proposeth to the nearest of kin the redemption of Elimelech's land, and the marriage of Ruth. The kinsman declineth both according to the manner in Israel. Boaz buyeth the inheritance, and accepteth Ruth for his wife before the people. Ruth beareth Obed the grandfather of David. The generations of Pharez unto David.
Ruth 3-4
Preface - Paul and his company after their shipwreck are kindly entertained by the barbarians of Melita: a viper fastening on his hand without hurting him, the people, who at first thought ill of him, believe him a god: he healeth the father of Publius, and other sick persons in the island. Paul and his company depart, and arrive at Rome; where Paul is left with a guard in a house of his own. He calleth the Jews together, and sheweth the occasion of his coming: he preacheth Christ to them, of whom some believe, others believe not: he continueth for two whole years to preach the gospel without interruption.
Acts 28

Daily Light - Morning
That through death he might destroy
him that had the power of death.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ....hath abolished death, and hath through life and immortality to light through the gospel. - He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. - When this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
He. 2.14; 2 Tim. 1.10; Isa. 25.8; 1 Co. 15.54-57
2 Tim. 1.7; Ps. 23.4

Daily Light - Evening
Where is the way where light dwelleth?

God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. - As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. - The Father....hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. - Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Job 38.19; 1 Jn. 1.5; Jn. 9.5
1 Jn. 1.6-7; Col. 1.12-14
1 Th. 5.5; Mt. 5.14,16

Q 19 - Did God leave all mankind to perish in the state of sin and misery?
A - God, having out of his good pleasure from all eternity, elected some to everlasting life, did enter into a covenant of grace to deliver them out of the state of sin and misery, and to bring them into a state of salvation by a Redeemer.

PARAGRAPH 10

The supreme judge, by which all controversies of religion are to be determined, and all decrees of councils, opinions of ancient writers, doctrines of men, and private spirits, are to be examined, and in whose sentence we are to rest, can be no other but the Holy Scripture delivered by the Spirit, into which Scripture so delivered, our faith is finally resolved.  21

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
The divine Saviour
He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not.
John 1 v 10

He was the Creator of all worlds: 'Without him was not anything made.' He was the Preserver of all worlds: 'By him all things consist', and hang together. All worlds, therefore, were His domain - He was Lord of all. He could say: 'Every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof' (Psalm 50 vs 10-12). All lands sang aloud to Him: the sea roared His praise, the cedars bowed before Him in lowly adoration. Nay, He could say: 'All things that the Father Hath are mine' (John 16 v 15); and He could speak to His Father of the glory which He had with Him before the world was. Whatever of power, glory, riches, blessedness, the Father had, dwelt with equal fullness in the Son; for He was in the form of God, and thought it no robbery to be equal with God. This was the riches of the Lord Jesus.
Oh, brethren! can you trust your salvation to such an one? You heard it was He that undertook to be the surety of sinners, and died for them. Can you trust your soul in the hands of such an one. Ah! Surely if so rich and glorious a being undertake for us, He will not fail nor be discouraged, 'till he have set judgement in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law.'
