Daily Prayer - Saturday
Saturday
- Give thanks to God that we have good news of salvation to tell, that the repentant sinner might have everlasting life through Jesus Christ. (John 3.16)
- Pray the Lord would bless the Gospel outreach by the church in Westminster. Both on Saturday mornings, through church services, via BSL and enquiries online.
- Pray the Lord would work in the contacts we have made both on Saturday mornings and at services; through personal conversations and online contacts.

Daily Reading Plan - Second Year
Preface - A further description of the church's graces. The church professeth her faith ad desire.
Song of Solomon 7
Pre
face - Christ, a priest after the order of Melchisedec, is proved to be of a more excellent order than that of Aaron, from the character of Melchisedec, and his confessed superiority to Abraham and Levi; from the imperfection of the Levitical priesthood, which induced the necessity of a change to one more perfect; from the confirmation of Christ's priesthood by an oath: from the unchangeableness, and spotless innocence, of the person.
Hebrews 7

Daily Light - Morning
surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

Where two or three are gathered togeth in my name, there am I in the midst of them. - Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. - My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. - Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? - Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - Ye are the temple of the living God.
Ge. 28.16; Mt. 18.20; Mt. 28.20; Ex. 33.14
Ps. 139.7-8; Jer. 23.23-24
1 Ki. 8.27; Isa. 57.15; W Co. 6.16

Daily Light - Evening
Keep yourselves from idols.

My son, give me thine heart. - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them? - Mortify....your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. - They that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare.... For the love of money is the rooot of all evil: which while some coveted after, they ahve erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things.

If riches increase, set not your heart upon them. - My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. - The LORD looketh on the heart.

1 Jn. 5.21; Pro. 23.26; Col. 3.2
Ezek. 14.3; Col. 3.5; 1 Tim. 6.9-11
Ps. 62.10; Pro. 8.19
Mt. 6.21; 1 Sa. 16.7

Of the Holy Scriptures
Chapter 1

PARAGRAPH 9

The infallible rule of interpretation of Scripture is the Scripture itself; and therefore when there is a question about the true and full sense of any Scripture (which are not many, but one), it must be searched by other places that speak more clearly.  (20)
20)  2 Pet. 1.20-21; Acts 15.15-16

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
Satan keeps me from it
But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15 v 26

I ought to study the Comforter more - His God head, His love, His almightiness. I have found by experience that nothing sanctifies me so much as meditating on the Comforter, as John 14 v 16' And I will pray the Father, and he shall give me another comforter, that he may abide with you for ever,' And yet how seldom I do this! Satan keeps me from it. I am often like those men who said, They knew not if there be any Holy Ghost....I ought never to forget that my body is dwelt in by the Third Person of the Godhead. The very thought of this should make me tremble to sin, 1 Corinthians 6 v 19....I ought never forget that sin grieves the Holy Spirit - vexes and quenches him....If I would be filled with the Spirit. I feel I must read the Bible more, pray more, and watch more.
