Daily Prayer - Friday
- Give thanks to God for many good things we enjoy and daily blessings.
- Pray the Lord would supply the needs of those in the congregation at Westminster and guide us as we help those destitute and suffering. Especially             those we have met in the pandemic. (Numbers 6.24-26.)
- Pray for the ministry among the children and that they would know Christ from a young age. A rich blessing in this troubled world.

Daily Reading
Preface - The glorious access of the Gentiles into the church. The blessings of the church after affliction.
Isaiah 60
Preface - Christ cleanseth the leper; healeth the centurion's servant, Peter's mother in law, and many other diseased; showeth how he is to be followed; stilleth the tempest on the sea; driveth the devils out of two men possessed, and suffereth them to go into the swine.
Matthew 8

Daily Light - Morning
I know that my redeemer liveth.

If, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. - This man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Because I live, ye shall live also. - If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

The Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. - We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. - Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Job 19.25; Ro. 5.10; He. 7.24-25
Jn. 14.19; 1 Co. 15.19-20
Isa. 59.20; Eph. 1.7; 1 Pe. 1.18-19

Daily Light - Evening
The Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart from
the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits.

Take heed therefore how ye hear. - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. - Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Great peace have thy which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. - How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hat every false way.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. - But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
1 Tim. 4.1; Lu. 8.18; Col. 3.16; Eph. 6.16
Ps. 119.165; Ps. 119,103-104
Ps. 119.105; Ps. 119.99
2 Co. 11.14; Ga. 1.8

A Puritans Catechism

Q 29 - How does the Spirit apply to us the redemption purchased by Christ?
A - The Spirit applies to us the redemption purchased by Christ, by working faith in us, and thereby uniting us to Christ in our effectual calling.

The 1689
Baptist Confession of Faith
Of Repentance Unto Life and Salvation
Chapter 15
PARAGRAPH 5

Such is the provision which God hath made through Christ in the covenant of grace for the preservation of believers unto salvation; that although there is no sin so small but it deserves damnation; yet there is no sin so great that it shall bring damnation on them that repent; which makes the constant preaching of repentance necessary.
  1. Romans 6:23
  2. Isaiah 1:16-18
  3. Isaiah 55:7

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
Lean hard
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning
upon her beloved?
Song of Solomon 8 v 5

It is very observable that there is none here but the bride and her beloved in a vast wilderness. She is not leaning upon Him with one arm, and upon somebody else with the other; but she is leaning upon Him alone. So is it with the soul taught of God; it feels alone with Christ in this world; it leans as entirely upon Christ as if there were no other being in the universe. She leans all her weight upon her husband. When a person has been saved from drowning; they lean all their weight upon their deliverer. When the lost sheep was found, He took it upon His shoulder. You must be content then to lean all your weight upon Christ. Cast the burden of temporal thing upon Him. Cast the care of your soul upon Him. If God be for us, who can be against us? They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. The eagle soars so directly upward, that poets have fancied it was aiming at the sun. So does the soul that waits on Christ.
