Daily Prayer - Friday
Friday
- Give thanks to God for many good things we enjoy and daily blessings.
- Pray the Lord would supply the needs of those in the congregation at Westminster and guide us as we help those destitute and suffering.                               Especially those we have met in the pandemic. (Numbers 6.24-26.)
- Pray for the ministry among the children and that they would know Christ from a young age. A rich blessing in this troubled world.
- Pray for the evangelistic work, that people would know the greatest blessing of all salvation by the grace of God through Christ.

Daily Reading Plan - First Year
Preface - Stripes must not exceed forty. The ox not to be muzzled. The law of raising up seed unto a deceased brother. Of immodesty in a woman. Of unjust weights and measures. The memory of Amalek to be blotted out.
Deuteronomy 32
Preface - The Psalmist professeth love and dutiful service to God in return for his deliverance: he studieth to express his thankfulness fitly.
Psalms 119:121-144

Daily Light - Morning
Who shall be able to stand?

Who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap.

I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.... These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.... They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free.
Rev. 6.17; Mal. 3.2
Rev. 7.9,14,16-17
Ro. 8.1; Ga. 5.1

Daily Light - Evening
Enter not into judgment with thy servant:
for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me, and he shall make peace with me. - Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. - A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ. - By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.

By him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ps. 143.2; Isa. 1.18
Isa. 27.5; Job 22.21
Ro. 5.1; Ga. 2.16; Ro. 3.20
Ac. 13.39
1 Co. 15.57

A Puritans Catechism
Q 65 - Is any man able perfectly to keep the commandments of God?

A - No mere man, since the fall, is able in this life perfectly to keep the commandments of God, but doth daily break them in thought, word, and deed.

The 1689
Baptist Confession of Faith
Of Lawful Oaths and Vows
Chapter 23
PARAGRAPH 4

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
Lean hard
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?
Song of Solomon 8 v 5

It is very observable that there is none here but the bride and her beloved in a vast wilderness. She is not leaning up Him with one arm, and upon somebody else with the other; but she is leaning upon Him alone. So is it with the soul taught of God; it feels alone with Christ in this world; it leans as entirely upon Christ as if there were no other being in the universe. She leans all her weight upon her husband. When a person has been saved from drowning, they lean all their weight upon their deliverer. When the lost sheep was found, He took it upon His shoulder. You must be content then to lean all your weight upon Christ. Cast the burden of temporal things upon Him. Cast the care of your soul upon Him. If God be for us, who can be against us? They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. The eagle soars so directly upward, that poets have fancied it was aiming at the sun. So does the soul that waits on Christ.
