Daily Prayer - Friday
Friday
- Give thanks to God for many Good things we enjoy and daily blessings.
- Pray the Lord would supply the needs of those in the congregation at Westminster and guide us as we help those destitute and suffering (Numbers 6.24-26).
- Pray for the ministry among the children in the Sunday School and Friday Bible Club and that they would know Christ from a young age. A rich blessing in this troubled world.
- Pray for the evangelistic work, that people would know the greatest blessing of all: salvation by the grace of God through Christ.

Daily Reading Plan - Second Year
Preface - The miserable overthrow of Tyre. Her restoration after seventy years, and her whordoms.
Isaiah 23
Pre
face - The apostle professeth to declare what he had formerly seen and known of the Word of Life, to the end that others might have fellowship with him. The substance of his doctrine is, that to have fellowship with God, we must be holy as he is holy; and that if we confess our sins, we shall be forgiven through the blood of Christ.
1 John 1

Daily Light - Morning
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

The world passeth away, and the lust thereof. - Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquited in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. - What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

Martha, Martha, thou are careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. - I would have you without carefulness.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. - The Lord of peace himself give you pleace always by all means. - The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: the LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Jn. 14.27; 1 Jn. 2.17; Ps. 39.6; Ro. 6.21
Lu. 10.41-42; 1 Co. 7.32
Jn. 16.33; 2 Th. 3.16; Nu. 6.24-26

Daily Light - Evening
The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities.

The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost. - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God? - It is God which worketh in you.

We know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. - A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Ro. 8.26; Jn. 14.26; 1 Co. 6.19; Phil. 2.13
Ro. 8.26-27
Ps. 103.14; Isa. 42.3
Mt. 26.41
Ps. 23.1-2

A Puritans Catechism
Q  66 - Are all transgressions of the law equally heinous?

A - Some sins in themselves, and by reason of various aggravations, are more heinous in the sight of God than others.

Chapter 3

PARAGRAPH 5

Those of mankind that are predestinated to life, God, before that foundation of the world was laid, according to His eternal and immutable purpose, and the secret counsel and good pleasure of His will, hath chosen in Christ unto everlasting glory, out of His mere free grace and love,  (11)  without any other thing in the creature as a condition or cause moving Him thereunto.  (12)
11)  Eph. 1.4,9.  11. Rom. 8.30;  2 Tim. 1.9;  1 Thess. 5.9
12)  Rom. 9.13,16; Eph. 2.5,12

Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings
What a friend we have in Jesus
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
John 11 v 21

Learn that afflicting time is trying time. Affliction is like the furnace, it discovers the dross as well as the gold. Had all things gone on smoothly at Bethany, Martha and Mary had never known their sin and weakness; but not the furnace brought out the dross. Learn to guard against unbelief. Guard against presumption, making a Bible promise for yourself, and leaning upon a word God has never spoken. Guard against prescribing your way to Christ, and limiting Him in His dealings. Guard against unbelief, believing only part of God's testimony. 'O foolish, and slow of heart to believe all that God hath spoken.' Remember, whatever your darkness may be, to carry your complaint to Jesus Himself.
