Daily Prayer - Friday

Especially those we have met in the pandemic. (Numbers 6.24-26.) - Pray for the ministry among the children and that they would know Christ from a young age. Daniel 3 Preface - The Psalmist exhorteth God's redeemed to praise his goodness, particularly in his providence over travellers, captives, sick men, seamen, and in the prosperity and affliction of whole countries. Psalms 107 Daily Light - Morning One of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you. - The life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls. - It is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. And [Jesus] said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. - By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. - Peace through the blood of his cross. Ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold...but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot...manifest in these last times for you. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean...from all your idols, will I cleanse you. - Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. Jn. 19.34; Ex. 24.8; Lev. 17.11; He. 10.4 Mk. 14.24; He. 9.12; Col. 1.20 1 Pe. 1.18,19,20 Ezek. 36.25; He. 10.22 Daily Light - Evening Amen. Amen: the LORD God...say so too. - He who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth [Heb. God of Amen]. When God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself... For men verily swear by the greater; and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness. - For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever... Amen, and Amen. The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of Divine Providence Chapter 5 PARAGRAPH 2 Although in relation to the foreknowledge and decree of God, the first cause, all things come to pass immutably and infallibly;4 so that there is not anything befalls any by chance, or without His providence;5 yet by the same providence He ordered them to fall out according to the nature of second causes, either necessarily, freely, or contingently.6 4 Acts 2:23 5 Prov. 16:33 6 Gen. 8:22 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings The blood of Jesus But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1 v 7 You need the blood of Jesus as much as at the first. You never can stand before God in yourself. You must go again and again to be washed; even on your dying bed you must hide under Jehovah, our Righteousness. You must also lean upon Jesus. He alone can overcome in you. Keep nearer and nearer every day.
