Daily Prayer - Wednesday
- Give thank to God for the Bible its inspiration and preservation for us to read it today. (2 Timothy 3.16, Proverbs 30.5.) - Give thanks to God that we have easy access to the Scripture in English, in our mother tongue. - Pray the Lord would bless us as we study the Bible through the ministry this coming year. That as we work through a book of the Bible the Lord would continue to help us to grasp God's truth. - Pray for the Lunchtime outreach service and those who attend; pray that more from the offices nearby and Christians who commute are able to join us. Psalms 36 Daily Light - Morning The accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony. - Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly. - That through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. - In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil... And take...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. - Thank be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. - He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - As the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will... As the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. - In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom... Length of days is in her right hand... She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. - Christ Jesus...is made unto us wisdom. The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Of the Church Chapter 26 PARAGRAPH 13 No church members, upon any offence taken by them, having performed their duty required of them towards the person they are offended at, ought to disturb any church-order, or absent themselves from the assemblies of the church, or administration of any ordinances, upon the account of such offence at any of their fellow members, but to wait upon Christ, in the further proceeding of the church.26 26 Matt. 18:15–17; Eph. 4:2–3 Robert Murray M'Cheyne - God Makes A Path - Daily Devotional Readings Sin confessed and cleaned If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1 v 9 I am persuaded that I ought to confess my sins more. I think I ought to confess sin the moment I see it to be sin; whether I am in company, or in study, or even preaching, the soul ought to cast a glance of abhorrence at the sin. If I go on with the duty, leaving the sin. I think I ought at certain times of the day - my best times - say, after breakfast and after tea - to confess solemnly the sins of the previous hours, and to seek their complete remission.
